SIL-ASIA ANNUAL REPORT (2018)
This includes SIL-Asia’s role in addressing challenges in universal health coverage through better digital health implementations. The report also outlines SIL-Asia’s accomplishments in these areas: interoperable digital health applications; innovative digital health solutions; and impactful digital health investments.
CO-CREATION PROCESS FOR ESTABLISHING AN INTEROPERABILITY LAB
A health interoperability lab offers a collaborative space for countries to design, develop, and test healthcare systems and applications that are standards-based and interoperable.DOWNLOAD MANUAL: CO-CREATING AN INTEROPERABLE LAB
CO-CREATION TOOL: GUIDANCE FOR INVESTING IN DIGITAL HEALTH
The potential of digital technologies will continue to increase and as costs fall, functionality rises, and new imaginative innovation comes to fruition it will provide even greater opportunities to transform the way health and healthcare services can be improved.DOWNLOAD BRIEFER: TOOL (GUIDANCE FOR DIGITAL HEALTH INVESTMENTS)
CO-CREATION TOOL: DIGITAL HEALTH IMPACT FRAMEWORK
The Digital Health Impact Framework (DHIF) manual and methodology is for people who need to appraise all types of planned digital health investments and brief decision-makers on their best choices. The goals are increased digital health knowledge, sharing, maximized net benefits and minimized risks.DOWNLOAD BRIEFER: TOOL (DIGITAL HEALTH IMPACT FRAMEWORK)
CO-CREATION TOOL: HEALTH INFORMATION GOVERNANCE ARCHITECTURE FRAMEWORK (HIGAF)
The digital health information governance architecture framework (HIGAF) is designed to meet the needs of developing member countries. It enables health sectors use existing IT governance initiatives to drive digital health.DOWNLOAD BRIEFER: TOOL (HEALTH ICT GOVERNANCE ARCHITECTURE FRAMEWORK)
CO-CREATION TOOL: HEALTH ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE FRAMEWORK (HEAF)
The Health Enterprise Architecture Framework (HEAF) serves as a blueprint to guide countries in the region on how to achieve its national goals on equitable access and delivery of quality, affordable health services, through the use of information and communications technology (ICT).DOWNLOAD BRIEFER: TOOL (HEALTH ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE FRAMEWORK)
CO-CREATION TOOL: FAST HEALTHCARE INTEROPERABILITY RESOURCES (FHIR)
Created from HL7, Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) is a leading draft standard in healthcare today, which uses logical and theoretical models to make healthcare data exchange between healthcare applications consistent, easy to implement, and rigorous.DOWNLOAD BRIEFER: TOOL (FAST HEALTHCARE INTEROPERABLE RESOURCES)
CO-CREATION TOOL: INTEGRATING THE HEALTHCARE ENTERPRISE (IHE)
Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) is is an initiative to combine and coordinate the use of various established health IT standards to address a particular clinical need in health information exchange.
CO-CREATION TOOL: BLOCKCHAIN FOR HEALTHCARE
Blockchain is a public ledger for recording and storing transactions among a group of participants. A Blockchain block consists of:
(a) transaction details; (b) hash value of the transaction details; (c) hash value of the previous transaction; and (d) a pointer to the participant that made the transaction.
DOCUMENTATION OF SIL-ASIA INTEROPERABILITY DEMO
The SIL-Asia interoperability demonstration which was first presented during the 6th AeHIN General Meeting showed how different health information systems can be connected using standards and profiles.
PROCEEDINGS: REGIONAL FHIR WORKSHOP
The Regional Fast Healthcare Interoperability
Resources (FHIR) Workshop with the theme,
‘Enabling Interoperability with FHIR: AeHIN’s
Regional FHIR Community Workshop’ held last 13-15 January 2020 at the Asian Development Bank Headquarters, showed how national digital health programs could implement FHIR as a standard to enable interoperability.
PROCEEDINGS: NATIONAL FHIR WORKSHOP (PHILIPPINES)
The Philippine National FHIR Workshop helped the participants visualize how the country can adopt FHIR as a standard, especially with the new Universal Health Care Act in the Philippines. A critical component of the act is anchored on the development of service delivery networks (SDN) in the whole country.DOWNLOAD PROCEEDINGS: NATIONAL FHIR WORKSHOP (PHILIPPINES)
FHIR TRAINING WITH UZBEKISTAN
The Standards and Interoperability Lab – Asia (SIL-Asia) with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has trained the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan in adopting Health Level Seven International – Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (HL7-FHIR) as a standard.
FHIR TRAINING WITH LAO PDR
The Standards and Interoperability Lab – Asia (SIL-Asia) with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) trained the Ministry of Health Lao PDR in adopting Health Level Seven International – Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (HL7-FHIR) as a standard.
